Alloy High Speed Passenger Cat Seating for 300 PAX

 

Launched: March 1991, by Aluminium Craft Pte Ltd, Singapore of marine grade aluminium. Built to a Lock Crowther design, originally to Germanischer Lloyd Class. Vessel has three decks, raked bows and reverse transom and an internal hull arrangement with watertight traverse bulkheads.
Tonnages: Gross tonnage – 298T.

Net tonnage – 99T.

Main engines: 2x DMWM Deutz Motoren Werke Mannheim model 604BV12 12 cylinder 4 stroke single acting water cooled twin turbo charged marine diesels. 2x 1690HP at 1800RPM.  Starboard engine overhauled mid 2018.
Fuel burn: 170l/hr at 1650-1700RPM.
Gearboxes: Reintjes WVS 1032.
Driving arrangement: Conventional shaft/fixed pitch props.
Speeds: 1 M/E on idle 6-7 knots. 1 M/E’s on idle 8-9 knots. Usual cruise speed between 20-22 knots. Max 25 knots.
AUX: Perkins 1004 series straight 6 Cummins, 122kVA. Fuel burn – average 50l/hr.
Capacities: Fuel – 9,200 litres.

Water – 5,000 litres.

PAX: Surveyed to carry up to 300 passengers and 10 crew. Note, in the past (at Sydney) this vessel was licensed for up to 475 PAX.
Domestic: Two passenger saloons both of which are air conditioned and fitted with aircraft style seating and panoramic windows.

2018 engine room fire: In May 2018 a fire occurred in the starboard engine room as a result of faulty oil pressure gauge. In the aftermath of this fire, the starboard engine and engine room were completely rebuilt at a cost of around US$240,000. Everything including lagging, fire suppression system, turbos, pistons, liners and electrics have all been completely replaced.
