In 1996 due to the demand for period square riggers, the ship was converted to the existing two masted rig and reverted to the name “Phoenix.

This ship is built on a traditional wooden hull of planking on oak frames.

Description

One of the prettiest of its type we have seen in many years of ship brokering.  An original heavily built timber ship.  Phoenix is a very good example of a period ship which is helped considerably by a continuous maintenance programme keeping the appearance, structure and rig in as near authentic style as possible.  The interior is not spoiled by modern materials and the feeling throughout is that of a genuine wooden sailing ship.
