12/07/2007 - FOR TENDER - Versatile Self Propelled Deck Barge New Zealand Marine Brokers Ltd have been instructed by Australian vendors to offer the above vessel for sale by Tender. Tenders close Friday 17th August 2007. Vendor retains the right to sell prior to the close. Vessel lying Auckland, New Zealand.

Built: 1963. A&G Price, Auckland to Lloyds Class + A1.
Displacement: 1,340 tonnes.
Engines: 2 x Mirrlees diesel 4 stroke engines, 5 cyl, turbo assisted. 513hp @ 750rpm. Gives 7/7.5 knots.
Propulsion units: 1 aft (stbd)/1 fwd (port). Voith Schneider units each 390hp. Vessel works with 1 unit running.
Tankage: 80 tonnes of fuel. 600 tonnes of water ballast.
2 x anchors x 1,200kg + 2 x warping capstans.
Deck is capable of carrying 330 tonnes 14 x TEUs x 24T ea.
Deck loading: 5 tonnes per square metre. Deck has strength to carry a single 100 tonne item.
Survey: Built to Lloyds & formerly in NZ Safe Ship Management (SSM) last slipped under the supervision of both Australian and New Zealand surveyors 2004 with partial NZSSM, but not actually put in.
Accommodation: day accomm only in 2 separate areas. Galleys, day rooms, offices, showers, toilets.
Equipment: Numerous chains, wire strops, lifting straps, tons of shackles, snap hooks and spreader bars.
Brokers Comments: This shallow drafted vessel can take a massive deck load yet will turn on a sixpence. For most of its life fully maintained by NZ Navy. Fifty years of use left! We urge inspection.

03 May 2007 - Stewart Island Fiordland Region. Popular charter operation comes on the market. The well known Bluff based charter vessel business has just come on to the market for sale. Sale includes vessel plus good website and other marketing aids plus misc gear and assets including rights to a now impossible to duplicate Stewart Island DOC Concession.
